Varanus Salvator

The Varanus Salvator is also commonly known as the Asian Water monitor. It is a large varanid lizard native to South and Southeast Asia.

These monitors live close to water, hence their name. There are lots of different types of localities for these highly intelligent monitors.

With monitors you rarely need to worry about feeding them as they will probably eat anything!

Since they can grow very big (up to 2 – 4 m in total length a huge enclosure with a water area is an absolute must for them to swim in.

Under proper and adequate handling, these monitors are very rewarding as a pet.
