Other reptiles I find very interesting are the amphibians. I own South American horned frogs, tree frogs and a Pixie frog. Big eyes, round bodies with beautiful patterns and colours making them fascinating visual spectacles.
Additional notes: Many Amphibians are noctural which means they hide during the day and are more active during the night. Proper dusting is required so that they avoid MBD.
Even though frogs have lungs they use their skin to breathe, so handling them needs to be done very careful to avoid damaging their skin. Prior to handling them it is critically important not touch any chemicals beforehand and make sure your hands are wet.
Tree frogs or Dumpy frogs have become a popular pet amongst exotic pet owners. I myself keep several tree frogs. I love to decorate their enclosures.
Ceratophrys, also known as the South American horned frog, due their round body and large mouth, resemble the popular video game Pac-man thus that’s how they got their nickname.
The last species of amphibian I own is the African Bullfrog (Pyxicephalus adspersus) or pixie frog. As you can guess from the name, these frogs are native to Africa.
