Just like any other pets, commitment and responsibilities are required to keep reptiles.
Good planning and time management really helps to sucessfully care for our reptiles. On daily basis, I usually made different time arrangements and feeding schedules for different types of reptiles as well as cleaning their enclosures. Below is a quick view of my feeding schedule:
-
Leopard Geckos & AFT
Amphibians
BD, Tegus & Monitors

*Basically make simple plan according to your time schedule.
Everyday I would take out my reptiles that need to be basked. I would bask them from 8 am till 10:30 am because that will be the best time for them to receive natural calcium D3 from the Sun’s UVB. (Remember during rainny season or winter indoor basking spots with UVA+UVB lighting must be provided)
To me, Sunday is a special day for me beacuse thats the only day I am truly able to spend my time together with my family and get interactions with most of my pets. Monday till Saturday I have my hands tight with works etc.
So, a typical sunday morning is to get up early. First thing first is to get all reptiles that need basking out to the outdoor area. Then I would boil water to thawed rats for feeding later. Cleaning their enclosures is a must thing to do. My flow is from my snakes then I will move to the amphibians and lastly I will attend to the large reptiles. Their respond in their feedings give me a good assumption of their health. It’s just so rewarding for me to feed my reptiles. By noon I would have finished all my task and have a great time with my family. At the end of the day, I would feel so rewarded and thinking the magic connection with my pets and family is truly amazing and beautiful.
